TOHU EXPERIENCES has stood the test of time because of our ability to deliver authentic, professional and genuine guidance through our humble hosts when welcoming manuhiri (visitors) from the four corners of Papatuanuku (Mother Earth) to our home, Aotearoa New Zealand.
With over 30 years of operating cultural and adventure excursions, hundreds of years of experience between our work whanau (family) and thousands of years history and lore to pass on to each and every visitor that we have the honour of hosting, Tohu is your best option for curating unique, memorable and one of a kind experiences that are bespoke and tailored to each and every individual.
Our Koru symbol, passed down through previous iterations of the business, embodies the concept of endless motion, much like time itself — forever progressing and evolving. But its significance extends far deeper, reflecting the living world around us. The flowing curves represent the rippling waters of our lakes and rivers, the undulating peaks and ridges of our hills and mountains, and the swirling winds of Tāwhirimātea, the god of weather.
In each version of our business, Māori culture has remained our guiding beacon, a steadfast source of inspiration. At its core, the Koru also symbolizes our insatiable thirst for exploration, knowledge, and adventure. The spinning cogs within the design remind us to continually move forward, embracing life’s ever-turning wheels and seeking new adventures along the way.
